German drone startup Quantum Systems is close to raising €150 million in new funding. The deal could push its valuation to around €3 billion, nearly triple its last mark. It would also make the company one of Europe’s most valuable defense tech startups this year.
Founded in 2015 by aerospace engineers Florian Seibel, Armin Busse, and Tobias Kloss, the Berlin-based company has grown fast. At first, it focused on drones for mapping and reconnaissance. But rising security threats and frequent drone disruptions at airports changed its path. Now, Quantum Systems builds airspace defense drones designed to protect skies, not just survey them.
Its latest model, called Jaeger, can detect, track, and stop enemy drones. The aircraft blends military precision with civilian safety, showing how the startup balances both worlds. Its system uses AI-driven vision and swarm-resistant communication, helping drones work together even under signal interference.
Unlike rivals such as Anduril Industries in the U.S. or Rafael Advanced Defence Systems in Israel, Quantum Systems doesn’t just detect threats—it responds to them. Its platform combines offensive and defensive tools within one modular design. Because of this, it can quickly integrate with NATO systems and adapt to different missions. That flexibility gives Quantum an edge in Europe’s growing defense market.
The upcoming funding round will help the company expand faster. Insiders say the new capital will back acquisitions of sensor and autonomous flight startups, strengthening Quantum’s technology stack. With these deals, the company hopes to stay ahead in the race for AI-powered drone dominance.
Revenue growth has also been strong. Quantum Systems expects to earn €300 million in 2025, rising to more than €500 million in 2026. The team is already planning another, larger raise next year that could lift its valuation to €5 billion. Investors see that as a sign of confidence in Europe’s ability to compete with U.S. and Israeli defense firms.
As tensions rise and airspace safety becomes a global priority, Quantum Systems stands out as a key player. Its drones offer a blend of autonomy, intelligence, and speed that modern defense requires. For Europe, the company represents more than innovation, it signals growing independence in the critical field of air defense technology.
